Qualifications

  • Scored below an A- in SPM Mathematics (or equivalent) but have since received a B in a more advanced degree (e.g. A-Levels or university)

  • Post-secondary education graduate as of May 2022 

  • Stable internet connection + a device to be able to conduct tutoring sessions from

  • No limitation on geographical location or whether you are a pre-univeristy student/university student/working professional

  • IGCSE Mathematics or equivalent (A-)

Onboarding 

 

  • Available for mandatory onboarding training sessions prior to commencement of tutoring 

    • Additional training workshop for tutor management 

  • Relevant background check 

  • Provision of academic transcript for Mathematics (SPM or equivalent/ more advanced degree)

Commitment/ Job Scope

 

  • 1:1 tutoring sessions 2 hours every week for a minimum of 4 months (17th July to 12th November 2022)

  • Oversee a tutor pod of 8-10 tutors

  • Check-in regarding tutoring experiences and to alleviate/signpost any problems

  • Organise socials for tutor pod to encourage engagement and collect feedback

Commitment/ Job Scope

 

  • 1:1 tutoring sessions 2 hours every week for a minimum of 3 months (13th August to 12th November 2022)

Expectations

  • Be respectful to other tutoes thrours and tuteghout your experience with Rakan Tutor 

  • Be prepared to inspire students to take interest in their academic growth

  • Be open-minded about varying teaching styles and different backgrounds of everyone involved

  • Be responsive to Tutor Leads regarding updates and arising conflicts

 

We are currently recruiting a new group of motivated individuals as tutors and tutor leads for the upcoming cohort of Rakan Tutor! We are looking for those who are prepared to inspire students to take interest in their academic growth and be open-minded about varying teaching styles. Additionally, we expect tutor/ tutor leads to be respectful to others throughout your experience with Rakan Tutor and to be responsive to tutor leads/ Rakan Guardians regarding updates and arising conflicts.
